Cu Chi Tunnels

Today we went and visited the Cu Chi Tunnels. These were the tunnels that the Vietnamese guerrillas used to hide from the Americans in. On the tour we also got shown various examples of traps that the Vietnamese set for their enemy and let me tell you know, I would not like to be falling into any of them. We got to go down into some tunnels. I only made it 15 metres through the tunnel. I had to get out because I was starting to feel claustrophobic. It was hot enough above ground today (30 degrees plus) and in the tunnels it was even hotter. I don't know how they would have survived down there. Apparently sometimes they were in the tunnels for up to two whole days!!!

Did you know that on average 9 people a day in Vietnam die from unexploded bombs? Very scary statistic and that's why it was important to stay on the track today.

The rest of the day I have spent in bed because I haven't been feeling 100% and want to rest up as best I can before the big trip to London on Thursday.

I'll write again when I'm in the big city, lots of love to you all xxx
